Bonnet Ladies in a circle
Mouse Drawn by B. J. Carper

"In this age, which believes that there is a short cut to everything, the greatest lesson to be learned is that the most difficult way is, in the long run, the easiest."
– Henry Miller

2006

Today was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the temp was good for this time of year, a huge contrast from yesterday's snow and icy roads that greeted me.

2005

“Man must be arched and buttressed from within, else the temple wavers to dust.”
- Marcus Aurelius -

2004

the hours have passed and the day is gone, another waste of time, another step forward towards the final destiny, I know and I realize that there has to be more to life than what my existence is, I also realize that unless I take steps to change it it will be this way until the end, do I always want to be sitting here in front of the computer, do I always want to have no social, outside life, no companionship, nothing but a mangy mutt to take out and the silence that surrounds my world?

2003

another 2 days of my life wasted. I occupy the space with no useful purpose but to be, my existence un-noticed.

2002

A wonderful day
smiles and tight hugs
live conversation

Make a day so much brighter

2001

If a word in the dictionary were misspelled, how would we know?
- Steven Wright -

2000

struggling to make sense of the past few days and of the future as well

Where are the children
Asleep in their beds?
NAY

Where are the children
Away at school?
NAY

Where are the children
Lost in a cold and uncaring world?
Is where are they

Once when I was young,
if I ever was
I had dreams,
like everyone does
Of mountains and streams
to be climbed and crossed
Of babies and home
to be fed and loved
Once as I grew older,
too soon, I'm told,
I tried to be bolder
like everyone does
The brave face the world saw
was not real at all

1998

Where do I start.......

In retrospect

I packed my bag
I carried it to the car
I started the cold engine
and allowed the ice to melt on it's own

I started North, then went West
And finally South
My Little car, finally then decided that it wanted to go East
Now if you think about it that is how life is, always going in a direction, but often times not for long, and always in a circle.

1997

Everything is in a state of flux, including the status quo.
- Robert Byrne -
