Thank you, friend, for all the things
That mean so much to me--
For concern and understanding
You give abundantly.

Thanks for listening with your heart;
For cheering me when I'm blue;
For bringing out the best in me;
And just for being you.

Thanks for in-depth conversation
That stimulates my brain;
For silly times we laugh out loud;
For things I can't explain.

For looking past my flaws and faults;
For all the time you spend;
For all the kind things that you do,
Thank you; thank you, friend.

"The most important thing I have learned over the years is the difference between taking one's work seriously and taking one's self seriously. The first is imperative, and the second disastrous."
- Margot Fonteyn -

"Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm."
- Sir Winston Churchill -

it's been so long that I have written any thoughts, something not normal, but yet it's okay because I do this only for me and no one else. Life as I know it continues with little change but for the aging factor and another day gone, wasted with no importance. There are days I think I would like to find love once again and then I realize maybe God didn't put me here to be loved, maybe I'm here for some other unknown reason, the realization that I may never know that purpose is sobering and saddening.

there are days I wish I could have what others have, days I wished I could forget and move forward. Days I think back to walks through the woods, along a river bank, or talk in the deepest of night. Sometimes I wonder if I ever really lived those days or are they only things I dreamed, is it possible to live your entire life, with joy only coming from the fantasy of your mind?

today like yesterday, tomorrow the same
no marking of the passage
no changing of the guard
no new or exciting challenge to life's game

Grasp the subject, the words will follow.
- Cato the Elder -

when you were beside me I felt strong
when you were here in my heart my arms did not long
when you were there with me in mind
when you were there love was shared in kind

Safeguard the health both of body and soul.
- Cleobulus -

Grant me your ear
listen for the tear
learn of my fear
and know why thou is so dear

The gifts of a friend are the simple things they do. Just by a word they can touch your heart.

Any simple little action can be perceived as the greatest gift. This week I received many such gifts. Gifts that touched my heart in more ways than I'm sure the giver realized.

As many of you may know I'm a Community Leader for Geocities, I have Homepages both in Wellesley and in Paris. I also am a very active member in both Communities, Being the Liaison for the Community Leaders in Paris and a Co-Liaison for the Community Leaders in Wellesley. As a Community Leader I stroll through the blocks of each neighborhood, looking at different homepages, picking up on things that a Homesteader may need help with, and offering help. Or noticing how much hard work the Homesteader has put into their pages and rewarding that effort.

It was by giving one of these awards that my first gift this week came. Many months ago I gave a fairly new homesteader my Great Start Award. This homesteader later became a Community Leader and also a featured Page in Geocities. Her way of thanking me, was to dedicate her New Great Start award that she gives to her Homesteaders to me. (Thank You Melonie)

From the exciting news that Homesteaders I have help guide through the frustrations of HTML to Featured Pages to the Community Leaders I share with, I have received Many Gifts.

Maybe the most special of all is the Laughter, the Joy, and their Friendship
